Hello, dear friends colleagues and esteemed lecturers,  when we visited the beautiful city of Melaka we took to our self's to do something about making this place even better, Our group is a mixture of IT students from BBIT to BICT so we have decided to take a business here and improve its network so that it improves the overall rating for the restaurant.

The Location (9th of Sept)

on the 9th of September we were handed out our assignment briefs, my colleagues and I listed down a couple of places to work on. at first it was the Limkokwing  university campus, however we knew that the university of innovative technology has there network and internet access all figured out. As we toured the city we visited a few beautiful places, such as Jonker street, the Portuguese settlement, The Church and much more beautiful places. how ever all the beautiful places that we visited didnt need any work done, on them because when u go to such places you need to focus on their beauty.

The sun has set for our first day in Melaka, at night the city turns into another world you feel like you are in Europe but with an Asian taste. My friends and I decided to go have dinner in an arabic restaurant called Dima, as well its located near the MMU  Melaka campus. We choose this location because this will help fix what MMU students couldn't fix.

 

The Negotiation (10th of Sept)

The beautiful sun of a new day has shine upon us, as we headed out to explore the beauty of Melaka and its historic places. as soon as we were done, we headed to have another look and another meal on our project. As soon as we sat down, we figured out that there was an actual problem with the internet and the wireless connection. For it reaches to some parts of the restaurant, while its weak to non existent in others. Since we choose this to be the project to work on, we headed to the management and spoke to them. we told them the dilemma that both of us were in. we proposed to them what we offered to do, in exchange we would be allowed to use Dima restaurant as a case study. They responded by saying they will consider it and will reply the next day, they were generous enough to let us take a photo of the meeting. 

The Reply (11th of Sept)

The 3rd day was the first day of getting the work done, after touring the city we headed out to the restaurant to hear from the management. due to the fact that the day prior, we couldnt actually get a final decision since the owner's approval is the decisive one. As soon as we arrived we asked to talk to the manager, as soon as he stepped out to meet us he handed my colleague Sullaiman Al Shehhi a mobile phone. He spoke to the owner and explained to him what was our objective, mission and why we are doing this project. The owner delightfully accepted and agreed, giving us the liberty to act as we wish. He was so generous that he spoke to us regarding some issues he faced with the network. we talked to the staff as well as a couple of customers in the restaurant. 

The Work (12th of Sept)

   On this day (12th of Sept) after touring the beautiful city, heading to the beautiful park. Where we enjoyed riding bicycles and going around to see amazing scenery, in the 10thousand tree forest. we decided on what to do later that night. Which is how to lay out the network, what devices to use and how to tackle the division of wireless routers. As we reached to Dima we noticed that most people tend to sit near the cashier where the router is and it isnt sufficient to cover the whole location. As well as to install servers that can handle the amount of overload that is expected. we ended the beautiful night with a bbq as a grand finale to end the beautiful week spent in Melaka.

The Final Decisions (13th of Sept)

In this day we have decided to implement a further stage to our system, which is a back up system in case the main system crashes. Making sure that the customers are provided with a top class service, which stands up to the name of Dima chain. As well as the devices to be used the wires used, and what sort of topologies to be implemented.
